Bushmaster is selling them for $590 right now. I was wondering your thoughts on this round. Seems like it is pricey, but great stopping power though not too accurate over 200 yards or so. Still, if you had to decide between that or the 7.62 upper by Bushy?

Neither round is really made for long distance shooting. The .450 is made for putting serious knockdown up close. If Bushmaster makes a good 7.62x39 upper that works well I'm curious about it. I've heard that 7.62x39 can be accurate out of an AR platform but I'm not sold on them yet. It would be a good and cheaper option vs 5.56/223.

The .450 is a great hunting round for the AR platform. The only problem that I have had is getting ammunition, but that has changed a bit in the past couple months. It is expensive for a box on the .450, but it is a blast to shoot. I bought my 16" for $799 when they first came out, the $590 sounds like a steal to me.

The bullet drops significantly after 200 yards, but prior to that, it is a very accurate round that definitely puts a hurt on anything in it's path.

BTW-If you want a 7.62x39, IMO get an AK-47 style rifle.

I've got one and love it, going huntin with it tomarrow. basicly i'ts a 460 s&w in an ar platform. it uses the same bullets and powder. it is a little hard to get ammo for tho. remington is coming out with ammo for it soon acording to midway.

No idea...no intention of trying, it was not intended for that. You have a 250 Grain Bullet going 2200 fps, so I would imagine that it would make a bad day for anything it hits.

Smaller faster bullets are usually what defeats armor.

I sure as hell wouldnt want to be in the body armour when it hit.Just the impact would have to really screw you up.

I've been thinking about the .450 bushy myself. Originally, I wanted to build a 7.62x39 but heard about problems with that round in the AR platform, and you can pick up an AK for about half the price on an AR build.
