Can anybody tell me if the Burris 30mm X High XTR tactical ring 420167 would work (fit) with the Strikefire on a AR15 flattop?
Would the X High XTR ring give absolute co witness or lower 1/3 co witness with the FSB front sight and magpul flip up rear sight?

Seems the distance from the top of the picatiny rail to the center line of the X High ring is 40.4mm on the 420167 ring.

The Vortex Strikefire includes a High Ring Mount.

Is there a reason why you want to buy the Burris Ring/Mount?

I think they are the same height.
I wouldn't get too hung up on this co-witness stuff. I'll always wonder were that got started. The only time you would use the irons is if the sight fails anyway. Trying to line up the dot and the irons defeats the purpose of the a red dot sight.

I feel the same way that is why I want 1/3 lower.
I want the dot to be above the front sight post. I think this mount will do this as it appears to put the center line of the scope at 40.4mm above top of the rail, the stock high Strikefire AR mount gives 37 mm. I just wanted to get a conformation of this.

Sounds like you're good to go! I'd love to see some photos once you get her all set up.

I see nothing wrong with trying the Burris X High XTR rings to get a lower 1/3rd co-witness. The Burris rings are very similar to the stock rings. The High 3/4 inch is equivalent to the factory mount.
