I got some of those batteries too and for S&Gs I put two of them in my Surefire 6PLED. Ran it constantly on for more than the 11hrs listed. I have a few of these batteries floating around and my house is still there! Not sure if they've made it into my TLR-1 or my aimpoint 2000, but I don't think these would be selling much anymore if everyone's 123 operated electronics were blowing up all the time.
It doesn't happen to everyone. But it does happen. I've seen a Surefire 6P that was partially blown apart, and had another part of it melted from Chinese batteries. Frequent the flashlight forums much, and you'll hear of more and more cases. Sure, they may work well some of the time, or even most of the time. All it takes is once however, to completely ruin your day/month/life. I'll spend a couple of bucks more to ensure that neither I, nor my gear, catches fire.
