Hay all

I found these Barnes Varmint Grenade Bullets they come in two sizes 36gr. and 50gr.

22 Caliber
Diameter Weight Description S.D. B.C.
.224" 36 gr Varmint Grenade FB .102 .149

.224″ (223/5.56)
Diameter Weight Description S.D B.C.
.223 50 gr Varmint Grenade FB .142 .183
(Recommended twist rate is 1:10 or faster for the 50Gr.)

I have a Bushy .223 with a 1:9 twist 16" barrel I found load data for the 50gr. but nothing for the 36gr.My reloading book only shows data for 35gr and 40gr on up no 36gr

I'm interest in the 50.gr but the recommended twist rate is 1:10 so I don't know if they will work for my rifle? Any help or suggestion will be appreciated smile.gif

I don't know if you got an answer on the twist rate, but the 50gn will be just fine in your gun. 1:9 twist is faster than 1:10.

1-12" with those VG's over H335 is a lethal and accurate combo.

I assume that you're talking about the 36gn in the 1:12 barrel?

Hornady recommends a 1:9 or faster for the 50's I believe.

Varmint Grenade is a Barnes bullet and they recommend 1:10 or faster for the 50gn. Bullet is 0.855" long which is 3.82 calibers. Twist calculator calls for a 1:10.5 as well.
