Hmm I'm interested to know what other states laws are as well. I know when I didn't have an insurance card (had only the one for the trade in vehicle as I just bought the car 2 weeks prior, non full coverage) I got a failure to provide proof of insurance. So I assume most states it's just a hefty ticket? Mine was $400 somethin
I was rear ended by an uninsured crackhead in Corpus Christi in Sept 2008. Just had my new truck 10 months. The police said he
was a confirmed crackhead and that he had no license or insurance. They pressed the charges for no license and operating a
motor vehicle without a license as well as no insurance. I don't know what happened with the guy as far as with the police, but I
do know that the insurance is persueing him for charges. Whether anything comes from it I wont know. But I am sure glad I had that
uninsured motorist on my insurance.
