Wow, I didn't realize they had these. I was thinking of going the Mechtech route, now I have an option. Waiting for the next range report too.

It's too bad they didn't make this carbine to use Witness 10mm magazines, which are already high capacity.

QUOTE (Zephyr One/Zero @ June 17th 2009 10:59 PM) *
I wonder how much more the velocity would peak in this carbine's barrel (+100fps above a standard 5" bbl.)?

I'm expecting much more than that, hopefully close to a 40% increase is velocity. There is a very interesting article on a blog that goes into very good detail and talks specifically about hot 10mm loads from DoubleTap and Buffalo Bore. I'll post the link below if anyone is interested in reading it. Once I get the carbine back from Feather, I hope to capture velocity data of some full power 10mm rounds coming out of the 17.5" barrel of the gun. In my eyes, it will either validate the article or prove it wrong, I'm hoping for the validation.

The article can be found here:

Interesting-- the Feather .22 and 9x19mm were cool little subgun--looking carbines from before the Clinton ban. I always thought that one would end up in my closet, but it never happened-- there was always something else that proved irresistible-- though I still see them used occasionally. It looks like I'm going to have to save up for one of the 10mm models, after all. flea.gif

I think I know what the next gun I'll be saving up for is. I was thinking a MechTech and a new G20 (since Glock offers us EMTs LEO discount), but this might be a bit more fun bigsmile.gif And of course, still eventually wanting to buy the G20 means that I'll have a carbine and pistol that share mags

Sorry for the delay, work and home life have been crazy for several weeks. Here is an update:

I sent the gun back to Feather and as promised, they looked it over and had it on its way back to me in less than 7 days (5 to be exact). According to the work order that was shipped back with the gun, they removed the stuck casing and gave the gun a complete check (barrel, action, etc) and corrected anything that wasn't right. There wasn't anything indicating whether an issue was found or not. I have it back in my possession and am just waiting for an opportunity to get back to the range. I'm shooting for this Saturday, if I can find some 10mm ammo locally that is. I'm post the results as soon as I have any.

Well partner, you had best be calling Mike McNett and laying in some 10mm "battle supplies" for that carbine! (There's a long 'winter' ahead, you know)!

To be fair to the company making this, I don't see his problem (separated case) as a gun problem but an ammo problem. From what he said it worked fine until the Winchester case separated.
