I just got/built/finished my first AR yesterday. I posted about it here. I've been looking around at different AR forums and I really like this one. Seems about like what I am used to. I've also got a bit of a problem with handguns, flashlights, and knives so this is probably not such a good thing for me to get into. Flashlights mostly Anyway, just wanted to say hi to everyone, and thanks for all the good information here. schiesz

Hey guys, hope this forum is as useful as it looks! Thank you to everyone responsible for making it what it is.
New to the scene, but eager to learn. 10 replies before I can search... I'll bug you 9 more times, I guess. Much like the Harley website, I'm betting most questions have already been answered. You just have to find it.

Another new guy here (located in Southern Colorado about 35 minutes North of the NRA Whittington Center, near Raton, NM.) Been interested in all types of firearms since age 14 (that's back in 1950). Enlisted in the U.S.Army back in 1955 and went to Small Arms Repair School at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. The M1 Garand was our main battle rifle at that time and I guess the AR's weren't even thought of back then. Glad to be here and certainly hope to pick up a lot of good info from the many many AR experts. Thanks! Blaster1

Joinin in from Highlands, Texas. Started with my first ebr when I was about twenty and bought a CETME. Should have kept it, but wanted more ammo and other goodies for my DSA SA58, which was my second black beauty. Now I'm trying to sell the Big Hoss so I can acquire the new object of my obsession, the Para TTR. I never thought I would want an AR or any variant thereof, I had an old Ruger Mini-14 that just shot like crap at 100 yards and since then I have shied away from anything chambered in the .223-5.56 round. A friend of mine has a Bushmaster, and after watching it's performance and putting a few downrange through it myself, I find it extremely difficult to say anything bad about it. Oh, and did I mention that I carried my faux FAL, 18 loaded mags, 36 loaded stripper clips, 6 M.R.E.s, 3 changes of clothes, 6 liters of water, first aid kit, and a bivy sack for a week out on my property in Deep East Texas, not only to come back with the realization that I'm severely out of shape, but that I could also drop quite a few pounds if I just changed weapons and ammo. Because I refuse to bring less ammo!
