QUOTE(wulf50guy @ September 4th 2007 8:04 AM) The red things on the tires.... Heaters I'm guessing? in jackal's absence, i'll answer this one. yes, tire warmers. saves some time getting the tires hot and therefore sticky. modern sportbike tires are incredibly sticky once up to the proper temperature. F1 cars use 'em too, along with most any high performance car or bike where left and right turns are involved.

Did some VHS transfer over to DVD this weekend, so I may be able to post some of my sportbikes shots once I do a little vidcap on them. I'll try to get some posted today.

While I can't really see the bike in that photo. If it weren't for the pipes, I'd guess it looks like an older XLCR. Those were the Harley cafe bikes based on Sportsters they came out with in the late '70s. Did you get a good look at it? A Sportster rebuilt into an home-made XLCR or something maybe?
That bike in the bottom photo ... does that say "Crocker" on the tank? Cool looking.

On Sunday the 16th, there's going to be a bike show in my town (amazing for a town that has one 4 way flasher). Among others there will be a guy bringing a 1929 Morgan Trike. There will also be old BSAs, Harleys(of course), Triumphs, vintage Asians, and a whole herd of old Nortons (the organizer is into Nortons). I'm sure that I'll take a ton of pics, so I'll be sure to post up a few. Personally I'm going for the women.
