DAMN! How did you manage that one?

Three of 'em popped up out of a ten foot deep drainage ditch right in front of me. I cut the biggest one in half.....literally. Kept it up long enough to be sure that I was past all trees and other solid objects along the road, then rolled off the back to be sure to get off behind it (it was going down anyway). Turned out I had a broken knee and both ankles broken, so even if I'd gotten to a stop I'd have been screwed.

Nine months later, in almost the exact same place, another guy hit one on a bike........killed him.

Just be careful. Take deer very seriously.

And enjoy the SV! I have three SV1K's and they are a hoot!

dudage.... that was something fierce...

There is a local legend on a 600RR who cut a deer in half on the EXACT same stretch of road I was on.

I saw the deer over a quarter mile away, and he was just standing on the side of the road. I slowed down to about 35, and kept my eye on him. I was about 10 feet away, and he bolts across the road. Then, the bad news happened.

From now on, it's war. I see a deer, the bike's coming to a complete stop, and I'm drawing the 1911. No chances for the next bike.

I think the SV will serve me well. Thanks for everything. Keep the rubber side down.

This was right after I first got her and since I have taken the fairing off and replaced it with a stock headlight. I got her for $500 from a friend and she needed new cams. I'm still waiting for the rear cam as they are hard to find but she's a great ride, '82 Virago 750. I've also got an '07 Ninja 250 which is a great little commuter bike.

This isn't mine, but it's the same year and color. I chopped my rear fender and made my own that now holds the tag and rear indicators and added more break lights. I also have a single side muzzy exhaust. Soon I'll be getting some low-pro front indicators. Oh, also removed the front fender, give's it a more aggressive look.

Here are two of mine - hoping to make a new build in the spring if I can get the wife to give up her garage spot...(I hope this works - haven't posted pics yet).
