Not a shot of my bike, but from next to my bike at the top of Beartooth pass pass looking down at the route to Red Lodge.

Ahh Bear tooth pass,,, been through there many times… Here is a pic of the wife’ie and me on the switch backs…

Here is a pic of my grandfather on my old 75 Sportster taken back in 1981.

I completely rebuilt this bowling ball (AMF Harley) that next winter.

I wish I had taken some color pictures of the gas and oil tank murals. All I have is these two b&w shots.

I road that raked out sporty all that summer of 82 then out to Sturgis..

When I got home I took an add out to sell her but I couldn’t wait for a buyer and that fall I drove the Sporty 100 miles in the driving rain to Twin City’s Harley Davidson and traded her in on a 1980 Electra glide FLHTC,, 1980 was the first year Harley came out with a eighty inch shovel head.

I rebuilt this bike also then drove her for quite a number of years then sold here one fall with the plan to buy a new dresser in the spring but life had a different plan…

I hope to get another scooter some day,, nothing fancy,, a late model shovel head of some sort..

Okay, like Wulfy, I don't have any digital shots of my bikes, so I grabbed some pics online of the models and paint schemes that I had. I do have some scanned pics and vid caps of my scooters, but I will have to search for them on some archived disks. Once I find them, I will post them. Got some nice road trip pics that I will post.

But until then, here are the scooters that have been in the Thumper stables:

My first street bike-
1989 Yamaha FZR 600 (600cc)

Great starter bike. Enough power to get you out of trouble or into it. Quick handling, but a little squirrely. Front fork tubes were small and way too flexible. Fork seals were weak. Engine was buzzy. (Purchased used. Owned it from 1990-1991. Put 8K miles on it).

My next street bike-
1991 Kawasaki ZX-6 D1 (600cc)

Easily my all time favorite motorcycle. I loved this scooter. It wasn't the fastest one I owned, but it was the MOST comfortable. It has a great seat. Great ergonomics for a sportbike. It's engine and transmission was very smooth. Had great power for a 600 of it's generation. Handled well. Road trips were awesome on it. The dash was well finished and had blood red readouts. The luxurious seat and centerstand made it a great date bike, too. whistling.gif (Owned it from 1991 - 1999. Put 62K miles on it).

My next street rocket-
1994 ZX-7 (750cc, not the "R" model)

Here is an actual photo of my ZX-7-

The most thrilling ride of the bunch. Not the fastest, but definately the most thrilling. This one didn't feel like you were over the bars, it felt like you were nicely in behind the cockpit. High pegs and low bars, this one was NOT a roadtrip machine. Nothing matched its handling though. This bike was the corner king. Confidence inspiring, a real hero maker. Kawasaki definatley had their act together on this one. The burgandy paint job was only beat by Ducati. This scooter was stunning to see in person. (Purchased from a friend who only had it for 6 months and only rode it a couple of times. I owned it from 1994 - 2001. Put 10K miles on it).

The last of my bikes-
1995 Honda CBR900RR (900cc)

Easily the fastest bike I had. The power on this beast was unreal. Front wheel pickups in any gear. Roll-on wheelie machine, no clutch needed (which it didn't get to do much as I don't like to do wheelies). Beatifully kept by the previous owner. Lower pegs than the ZX-7, but I always felt like I was on top of the machine, almost over the cockpit. Fun bike, very agile. Very light as it weighed in just 5 pounds heavier than it's 600cc counterpart of the same year. My model had the black and red paint scheme, not the blue and red scheme.
(Purchased used from a friend. Owned it from 2001 - 2002. Put 6K miles on it).

Again, these are not my shots, but I will replace all of these pics with my own.

As you can tell, I rode mine ALOT. I was never concerned with the mileage in regards to selling my bikes. I bought them to ride, and ride them I did. I would ride year round as long as there wasn't snow or ice. I became an amatuer meteorologist.

Neat looking bikes Thumper - I'm looking forward to your pix.

Why did you get rid of the ZX-6? Dumb question I suppose.- I've gotten rid of bikes I've liked also. doh.gif

Good question. Money was getting tight at the time, and I chose to keep the ZX-7, although to this day, I can't figure out why. I absolutely loved that bike. It was the only one I purchased brand new from the dealer. It hurts to even think about. (Right about until I look at my scar, and then I hurt other places).
