Ok guys. Let's see those bikes!

Decided to just pin it. If after a few days these are the only shots, I'll say the 'Armory has spoken' and let it just fade away.

I take the Winnebago approach these days.

Shots you've probably all seen before. This one staging for a P-guard ride

Not a shot of my bike, but from next to my bike at the top of Beartooth pass pass looking down at the route to Red Lodge.

Well I couldn't find any old pictures of mine, no digital camera back then.

But here's a picture of one like I had.
Mine had a Vance & Hines racing exhaust and stage 3 dyno jets in the carbs, K&N filter.

Miss that bike too.

1992 Kawasaki 600R Ninja.

To me, all of those things look like they're still moving even after you park them.

Man - those are great pictures v2wyn! Makes me want to go on this ride more than ever now.

Really dumb question - What the hell bike is your sport bagger? That's a sweet looking ride. I can see it's a Suzuki, but can't quite make out the model.

it's a V-Strom.... yep, Strom., not stOrm. don't ask me what it means,,,, but i think it is german for wind, or something like that.

it has basically the same motor as stuart's bike and my former SV. it's 996cc, liquid cooled, 4-valve head, 90 degree V-Twin.

awesome motor... tuned a bit different than the SV. this bike redlines at 9.5k, the SV at 11k. it's tuned more for low and midrange grunt, or so the literature says...

i put the Givi luggage on it shortly after i bought it this past May.

thought i would try to jump start this thread. it's a good idea. i know there are a lot of members with bikes and i wanna see 'em! bigsmile.gif

btw, i've got a zillion more where these came from...
really.gif

but after this next post, i will contain myself

Well ... I appreciate the assist on getting this going.

I'd like to see everyone's ride. in here.

The bike sounds terrific for the area you ride. And +1 to the low end grunt - it's what you want on a touring bike. If my back could still take riding distances on a sport tourer, I'd probably still be riding them.

But for me right now - the Winnebago's the way to go. thumb.gif

Thanks bro. I take it you remember the place?

Stark is right. Just a few miles out of Yellowstone, and you're above the tree line. The winter after I last rode it (when that photo was taken) there was an avalanche (or was it a landslide in the spring?) and the road over the pass fell off the mountain. They've since replace it, but I don't know the condition right now. Hopefully, it wasn't ruined.

Stuart showing me how high the shoulders were of the BEAR that he nearly HIT on the BRP while coming to meet me this morning....it's not an uncommon occurance in some spots up high in the remote areas. dang...that was a big bear! laugh.gif

The sign speaks the truth! This is outside of Gertie's Country Store, in Vesuvius, VA. GREAT FOOD if you ever find yourself here....

Some dork (me) showing the proper way not to conceal your G26

(insert your own caption here) blink.gif animlol.gif

aftering eating, we hit the road and headed toward stuart's place. dang nice place there, stu!

he actually let me see his gun storage depot and i was allowed into the secret ammo bunker.

but only after we passed through the security checks and i was fingerprinted..

then outside for a round of shooting his AR....his AK.... his Walther with his recent addition screwed on the end... very cool!!!! .. and my G26

i should know better by now but it sure is danged easy to get yer carry mag (full of speer gold dots) mixed up with the WWB loaded mags....

bonkhead.gif tonk.gif

that stump and the paper plate didn't stand a chance, i tell ya!

rode well (stuart did), ate well (we both did), and shot.... decent (me again) (stuart didnt' shoot much)

all in all, a terrific day!

yeah, it was a good day.

much cooler today and we did get rained on

it felt so good that i didn't even put on my rain gear

been wanting to get my leather jacket properly soaked anyway

if you are talking about my bike, it's pretty quick. it's nice to have the HP and torque available, especially when you want to get out of someones way.

if you are talking about stuart's bike, it's quicker!

Great shots Stu.

And it just reinforces what I've thought all along - bikes look great in black.
