This is something I'd love to have. .410 Gauge AR which I assume is based more on an ar-10 due to the length of a .410 shell. I don't know where to get one as everyone seems to be out, but I love the concept. It'd be great to see with a 10-20 round mag or drum even, and would be really great in larger gauge, at least 20 or so, would love a 12gauge. If I knew how to make barrels and such I'd make a rifled 12 gauge with an 18 or 20 inch barrel. That would be a hell of a HD and hunting shotgun.

its a good shooter and if it had a larger capacity I would use it all the time ,but its mainly hers now or so SHE says laugh.gif i use my Saiga 410 more just becauseit has a few hi cap mags with it.As far as accuracy its better than my Saiga and we are trying to get more of them to sell at our shop as we speak.Mine was a present from the father in law. I wish they had a 45long colt magazine for it and the Siaga cb.gif Cant wait to see what it will do t the deer!

I was looking into getting an upper like that, but I think the lowers are different internally, so I decided against it.

yea, I want one but I wanna put my hands on it first. If it's all good with a standard lower it's a go for me, but if it's specialized then I'd rather wait and see if I couldn't get someone to build me one, or at least get me a barrel and find a bolt that would work.

As AD says, it's a completely different animal.

I'm not sure as I don't have any .410 shells, but it seems to me like a 2.5" shell would fit through an ar15 mag well and possibly even go in a stock ar mag, or maybe one with a flat floor. And since a .410 fit's in a .45LC chamber, have a barrel made with a .45 chamber and a twist rate that would be similar to a lever action .45LC and then you could have a 16" barrel capable of both .45 lc and .410. Now the only question is feed ramps. I assume that something like .450 bushmaster has dissimilar feed ramps from a standard m4 feed ramp. If not then no problem, but if so then I think an upper for .450 bushmaster, .50 beowulf, or .458 socom would be a good start. I think I may buy an extra mag and regular steel mag and see about getting .410/.45lc to go in. If I can work them in well I'll next see about a barrel, perhaps blackhole or another sponsor would enjoy taking on this challenge. smile.gif Now hopefully no one will read this, jump the gun and patent it before me. smile.gif I think the hardest part will be the bolt, perhaps I can look to .450 bushmaster for that as well.

A 2.5" .410 shell will fit in the magwell but not in a standard AR mag.

The rim hangs in the rear. The ones they use in the dedicated .410 must open up more.

So a trimmed out pmag or stretched open standard would probably fix that then? I'll just have to get a couple and experiment. The bolt seems to be a hard problem to solve, .45lc is a .512 rim and all the larger calibers in the AR are around .45. I didn't factor in the fact that the .45lc would have a larger rim since it's a revolver round. May end up having to contact the makers of the GTI AR .410 and see if I could get a bolt from them. Man this could be such a sweet custom build.

The operating system on these .410s is NOTHING like a standard AR. I saw a pic of one with the hand guards off and it was crazy looking.

Ok after doing some research, I discovered that they DO use a standard AR lower, and the uppers are available separately.

Awesome, one problem solved bigsmile.gif thank AD. These seem to be hard to find, everywhere i've seen that used to sell them no longer even has a page for them. They're website still exists, they're out of Istanbul, I might shoot them an email and ask about a bolt.

ETA: I think buy building it rifled for the .45lc I'd feel better about having a 16" barrel and be able to have a standard gas system. You're right that piston system is very odd looking. I also don't understand how you could get away with a 16" barrel designed for a shot shell. There was nothing anywhere that said NFA for the "compact" 16".
