Morning all....have another Q for you.......I am a very big advocate of LC ammo.....my M4A3 just loves it......when the LC runs low, I usually pick up some Federal XM193.....for all intents and purposes the same ammo....but was wanting to know who knows what the letters stand for after the majority of Federal XM193's.....such as XM193C......or XM193CBP and so forth.....I have always avoided buying any of these not knowing what the said designation meant.....appreciate any and all insight towards this.........thanx.............................. flea.gif

My understanding is that the C in XM193C is for commercial. My guess about the CBP stands for Customs and Border Protection, likely an over run.

X on Federal ammo means either cosmetic culls from military issue ammo or overruns. Basically ammo diverted from military to civilian use. The letter after it (C, CBP, and others) are simply for noting packaging or destination.

If it is Federal brand and has XM193 on it then it should shoot the same as the military issue stuff.
