I'd take a Vepr II with NO complaints.

I read a really good atricle on it, there are a lot of benefits to it over the original AKs and some benefits over the AR.

I am not about to type up the whole article(it was in a magazine) but some of the interesting features was the barrel was lined up with the stock, not higher than it, so the kick was lessened due to that. and it doesnt use an AK barrel but an RPK, the full auto barrel, supposedly that makes it stronger and more accurate...

overall the reviewer loved that gun.

But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!

So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!

I had one.....look at the pic. The vepr's are wonderful firearms but an AK simply does not NEED a heavier receiver or barrel. The increse in acuracy is certainly not enough to justify the weight.

One thing that I thought WAS a great improvement was the longer forend. Shoot enough full auto ak's and you're gonna get burned by the handguard retaining plate at one time or another.

Sampson: Federal, Wolf and American Eagle? Were you testing different ammo? My favorite cheap Ruskie stuff is Silver Bear. You should give it a try.

The Wolf was the 7.62x39.

The American Eagle was .38 Special.

The Federal was .22 LR.

The Magtech(I think) was .357 Magnum.

The Ultramax was .223 Remington.

lol. I had a shitload of guns out that day.

I've tried Silver Bear. Good stuff.
