Have any of you tried to use Thermold mags with the 7.62x39 or Grendel?
I have a few Thermold mags that I can test with a Grendel cat this weekend but I do not have a 7.63x39 upper and want to know what everyone else is using for mags. Are they reliable?
I have a few ideas and any input you guys have would help.
Thanks
Harrison

Are you asking about 5.56 mags or 7.62x39 mags?

I have some 5.56 Thermold mags that seem like they will feed the 7.62x39 better than the C products Grendel mags.
but, I do not have a 39 to test them with.

Never tried it with the Thermold ones. Have tried it with the Orolite mags. That didn't work to good. Did not want to feed correctly. That was for the 7.62X39

The thermolds kick the bullet nose toward the center and the case neck up 1/8" off the front of the mag when chambering by hand. The metal mags drag the nose on the front of the mags. I found this by accident today when a T mag fell out of a bugout bag and I've been having issues with a Grendel cat feeding with other mags. I'll try it this weekend, just thought I'd ask here.

I have a 6mm and 6.5mm Banshee which are wildcats based on the Grendel. Thermold mags do feed fine, better than the first C products did.
I ordered a new C products mag and it has not been delivered yet so I found these by accident while waiting. If you have one give it a try.
