It's a PDF (you have to download) and compares M855 to heavier & longer .223 bullets. It's good at showing how these heavier and longer bullets are better in gelatin tests. It doesn't appear to be based on real world results, but it does give you some idea of how these rounds might really work.

Nice find, thanks for sharing!

Can someone tell me what the acronym OTM means? It was associated with a few of the 5.56 cartridges in the attached pdf file above. One example is Blackhills ammo with 77 gr Sierra Matchking bullets.

Open Tip Match (OTM). The 77 and 75 grain bullets started out their lives as match bullets, then the military discovered the extra knock down or killling power and it became the Mk. 262 Mod 0 and Mod 1.

ETA: Although the tip of the bullet is open like a hollow point, the round doesn't expand like a traditional hollow point.
