Voted Glock 22 cause I have one I bought before the ban went into effect and have shot many rounds thru it. Since I got my 1911a1 I haven't shot the Glock very much.

Glock 23!

Best all around .40 cal. Can be carried concealed, can be carried on duty. Can be used and abused cause it's a Glock and is already butt-ugly.

Honorable mentions:

Sig P226 in .40 - very sweet. Don't have one, don't need one, but wants one.

USP .40 - First gun built around the 40 S&W. Built like a tank, and carries like one. Too big for the 13 rounds it carries, and the trigger sucks, but it was a first.

XD40. I'm not really fond of the 40, but I really like this firearm. (Especially with my 9mm barrel installed :essen18: )

Glock 22 to big for my hands, so I chose the Sig 229.

Since I didn't vote before, I think I'll change my mind. I remember handling a (IIRC) S&W 4006, that just felt right in the hand. I don't know if it was reliable or accurate, but it felt better in my hand than just about any other .40 I've fondled.

Sig 226 is a damn good choice too, that gun is almost perfect, IMHO. Decisions, decisions. Still don't like the round, but there are some very good quality guns on that list, makes it very hard to choose.

Glock 22 handsdown. However ive kinda grown to prefer the 9mm. So once my pitcher of G22 Kool Aid is gone is going to be time for some G19 Kool Aid.

However my G22 has been flawless and I couldnt ask for more.

The G35 is an excellent pistol.

If I were in need of a .40, that'd be the one I'd want first.

The HK's are great, well made, super accurate, but they don't fit my hand well. On the other hand, I love my P226 and my P229. They fit my sissy girly hands very well. smile.gif

My first gun was a Glock 24P and I've tried just about every other flavor of .40 S&W at some point or another, including the short lived S&W 646 revolver, and I can safely say, hands down, my favorite .40s are the CZs. I've got a RAMI and an 85 Compact and I'm hoping the 75 in stainless will be out in .40 soon (the CZ-USA rep said they were sent a prototype but they don't know if it will be going into production).

Well, I finally quit procrastinating and put a deposit on a G35, so it's on order. Should arrive Tuesday or Wednesday. I was trying to find a justification to buy it, but gave up and just did it. That X200B will be cool on it. Maybe I'll be able to show up on Wednesday night.
