Does anyone sell just a barrel in 30 RAR? And a bolt, too. If I can get one in time, I'll be signing up for a match where I need a .308" diameter or larger bullet and I really don't feel like going to an AR-10. My Google Fu is weak lately. Thanks!

Jim

Yup, all I can find is news releases and people going on about how useless it is and how a .308 is better and so on. Is Remington or Bushmaster going to release an upper? I know they're out there. Thanks for your help.

From the article that Warlike posted:

QUOTE
Factory 30 Remington AR Rifles and Uppers
Initially, the 30 Remington AR round will be chambered in complete, DPMS-built Remington R15 rifles, which start at $1,199.00 MSRP. For production rifles, the expected rate of twist is 1:10″, but that has not been finalized. What about separate uppers? Given the hefty price of the complete rifle, existing AR owners may prefer to purchase a 30-caliber upper by itself. While no release date was given, Remington stated that 30 RAR uppers will definitely be offered for sale in the future

TS, I read that part, too. I've been looking for a while, I was just hoping that someone already has an upper out there. I know there are some complete rifles out there, I just really don't want to drop the money for a complete one and have yet ANOTHER AR in the fold, especially an R-15. Don't get me wrong, I love my two Remingtons, I just don't need a RealTree Camo AR for my purposes. I'd love to find someone who has one.

Gotcha. Keep your eyes open because wildcatters usually have a new barrel or upper fairly quickly.

Okay, some guy is taking "preorders" for R-15s in 30 RAR on Guns America. They don't have them in stock, so they want $100 to be put on a waiting list? At least they don't want to the whole thing up front, but still.

He doesn't have any feedback yet. Be careful.

Talk to Mike who owns Dtech. He has designed a 30 caliber that shoots like a house on fire. I bet he could build you a custom faster than you will see an upper only Remington hit the shelves. Plus you would get pure QUALITY like the 20 tactical he did for me. Tell em Greg in Phoenix sent you.
