i got #60 today. don't ask me why i've counted, but i have.

i had not been seated down 1 minute this afternoon when he crossed the creek heading my way and i got ready. it took him a few minutes but he showed himself again at about 70 yards. i was looking at him through the scope when he suddenly went ballistic and started running right at me. he stopped at about 7-8 yards. i was kinda curious to what made him run but i could see a full spectrum behind him and there were no other deer so i cocked and blew his lungs against a nearby tree. he still ran 50 yards. he died about 10 feet from where the doe yesterday died. i had to drag his ass right up the same blasted hill side. dry.gif

nothing but a button/spike but it's meat, and that's what i hunt for.

i had no one to take a pic today, so it's just the deer and the muzzle loader.

i timed myself tonight. after i had gutted him i threw him on the gambles and in 27 minutes on the dot i had skinned him, quartered him and cut out the T-loins and sweet meat, drove the carcass over to the other side of the farm, tossed it, drove home and cut the hooves off. wink.gif not bad IMO. really.gif

he's "chillin" in the fridge and tomorrow night we'll cut him up with the one i killed yesterday.

i'm all about the meat bro. i need to get 5 or 6 to fill the quota so to speak. if i don't it's no biggie, but that's what i'm going for. i always shoot 1 or 2 each year for my aunt, she basically lives on what i shoot and send down to her in NC. it's been warm so we are in canning mode, but it's only the 3rd day of ML season, i've got 4 more weeks to blast. wink.gif actually 6, if i count late ML.
