What kind of custom grips are good for a full size 1911, I've been looking at VZ grips, there somewhere in FL if I remember right. There Double Diamond Black Desert G10 would look nice (IMO) let me know what you guys think and have. gun2.gif

All depends on what you use it for and your hand size/shape. I use Houge wrap around with finger grooves on my Les Baer. I have the stock checkered grips and some fancy ones for photo shoots. The Houges are for getting business done. gun2.gif

Geez you are from the Old School Oak.

I just picked up some Wilson G10 grips, expensive as all hell but I like em.

VZ Grips are excellent. I have the black paper Gatorbacks on my Kimber. If you like Micarta, and I do, you will love them.

I like my VZ gatorbacks. Easy to hang on to, but not too grabby for CCW purposes.

I agree with Pleaforwar, take a look at the Wilson Combat Starburst Grips, they come in several colors and they actually help with recoil. Very nice looking grip that is meant to be used! They come in G10(only in black) and Micarta(in green, red or black)

<-------Also old school

Prefer something to give quality grip w/finger grooves and absorbs recoil. So, the Pachy wraps....

However, I wouldn't mind putting some of these onPachy American Legend
