Here's a topic with no real world worth, but I'd still appreciate your participation.
In my years with the 10mm (I started in '92) I've used a lot of different brass and upon getting another load of it in a swap, I saw a couple new pieces I've not yet ever seen before.

There are cartridge collectors and compiled lists of differing head stamps and their origins, but what I'd like to see is a complete list of every headstamp we've yet seen on 10mm brass. In fact, I'd love to have a list of every factory loading that's ever been available, but so many are long gone and out of production that it would be a tough list to compile.

This list should be a bit easier... all you have to do to add to the list is look at your brass and tell me what you see on there.

I'm going to start with what I have in my supply and there simply has to be more out there, but I'm not putting it on this list until I've seen it, or YOU post that you have it or know for sure that it exists.

What will this accomplish? Nothing! oh yea.gif But what the heck. If you have no interest, no biggie.
If I have missed some already compiled list, please link me to it!

  • Winchester (brass & nickel)
  • R-P (Remington) (brass & nickel)
  • FC (Federal) (brass & nickel
  • *---* (Starline) (brass only)
  • PMC (Eldorado) (brass only)
  • ELD (Eldorado) (nickel only)
  • Midway (brass only)
  • Double Tap (nickel only)
  • Pro-Load (brass & nickel)
  • Hornady (brass only)
  • Hornady (10mm, no "auto") (brass only)
  • 3D-Impact (brass only)
  • norma (brass only)
  • KSP (??- Kentucky State Police? Help!) (nickel only)

It seems that either Buffalo Bore or Cor-Bon (or both) are using someone else's head stamp... likely Starline, but I can't confirm. And way back in the 90's, I bought some re-man Black Hills, but it was all common and mixed head stamp. (I don't think they offer a 10mm load these days.) Anyone know what Georgia Arms uses for their canned heat ammo?

Also, notice that I put down both brass & nickel for Winchester -- who else has seen nickel plated Winchester 10mm brass? If I had to guess, I would suggest perhaps the old Black Talon ammo came in nickel? Point is this-- in all these years, I just came in to TWO pieces of nickel plated Winchester brass, the first two pieces I've ever seen. So it's not common stuff. Anyone know where it came from?

And the "KSP" brass, that's only my guess since the Kentucky State Police were one of the largest groups ever issued 10mm pistols as duty weapons, I thought it might be possible that they had custom brass for training... but I don't really know this, so I would like to hear from anyone who does, or who has other theories.

PLEASE look at your brass and add what you can to this list! thumb.gif

That's interesting...

I know Georgia Arms is pretty popular with their "canned heat" line of ammo, but I've never bought or used it.

Anyone if current ammo from Georgia Arms comes with the head stamp of "MASTER" ?
You'd think I'd have some of this brass... I don't have even one piece.
