I have tried to email Mike with no response, but I got two boxes of 10MM 165 GS loads and out of 100 Rounds, I had about 20 primers fail to ignite on the first strike. This is with a stock G29 and it has never failed to ignite a primer before and the indentation on the primers are deep enough for any normal primer. The lot number on the boxes is 005726. This has been my carry load and I am not sure what to do now. If the problem were solved, I would order a few more boxes. I have shot this load many times with no problems, and there is nothing wrong with the gun. I shot three brands afterwards with no problems.

I just want to buy more, but I need to know if the problem is solved.

Jim

Ug... sad.gif
We have received a few complaints with some batches of DT 10mm ammo. unsure.gif
It would be nice to at least hear from McNett. We would all like to resolve this, trust me.
It has always been great ammo and DT has been a longtime sponsor here at the Armory.
I will contact the staff here and see what, if anything, we can do.

Thank you - I want to buy more, but not if I am going to be scared to carry it.

Yeah man, I bought a G20 today and was about to go DT on my 19/20/26 but as much bad as I have been hearing lately from co-workers it just is not an option. I can not be worrying if it is going to go click or bang. Between equipment that I do not trust and nothing I'll take nothing.

I really hope to hear more on this.

Cheers
Jon

WOW, just reading this. DT 165g Golden Sabers are my current carry round in my G29. Gonna have to seriously consider carrying with something else.

Very distressing. My duty weapon has DTs. I wouldn't want a mis-fire in a real life crisis situation. Velocity concerns... now mis-misfires, all I can say is that I am re-evaluating my ammo preferences and taking a renewed look at other brands.

You can't control bad primers. We have had them. We tracked down the lot and recalled all the ammo.

And before you say cheap primers. I have had them fail from every maker.

This is why it's always recommended to be allot of whats going to be you SD load and test it. Make sure it works in your gun and make sure by testing samples there are no issues.

I am of the mind that the REASON to buy DoubleTap PREMIUM ammunition in the first place is to avoid such things.

I always thought that, while yes, "bad primers happen" part of the reason I was paying a 50-75% premium price for custom ammo was so that the bugs were already worked out, "sample testing" performed at their end, NOT mine, and I could have complete confidence in my ammo.
