Hello all well after waiting for a week or so I finally got my 1006. GOOD LORD its a boat anchor. But Damn I love it. I cannot wait to go shoot it. I am not sure how old it is it has a start on the serial as TEVXXXX. This is the first gun I have had with a 5in Barrel. Nothing about this thing is tiny. I changed out the Hogue Grips for a set of NEW factory. I have a Bianchi S3 holster with it that fits like a glove. You may think I am crazy but I want to use it as a CCW. Anyone else out there that can share some best practices of the 1006 I would be greatfull. Glad I fond this site, have a good week all of you

Well, with a good holster and belt, they're really not too bad. Mine weighs about 48 oz fully loaded, which is just a few ounces more than a full-size 1911. With the factory grips, they're pretty thin, too.

I carry mine in a Kramer Belt Scabbard, usually in the winter months, when it's a little easier to cover up. I always feel very adequately armed.

Date-wise, mine is TEUXXXX and shipped in February 1990, so yours should be very close to that.

Welcometo the site! I have 2 1006's. One I shoot and the other has only been test fired, so it wont be shot any time soon.

Yeah, it IS a bit of a boat anchor, but I'd rather have a gun that's a little overbuilt than one that falls apart in a short time. Congrats on your S&W; I think you'll have a blast with it!.

Some combination of flagging sales and production costs.

I admit I did not know you were talking about a semiauto 10mm, so I Googled it and day-um! Nice pistole, good luck carrying that one concealed!

Not saying it can't be done, guys carry full sized 1911s concealed all the time, but it's a challenge!
