Hi,

I,m new to this forum. I know where there is a S&W 1006
for sale with fixed sights. Is this model accurate as the one
with the adjustable sights.? On the 1006 is there an advantage
with adjustable sights? Reason I asked, since there are many
different loads with 10mm, will fixed sights be OK.

Thanks

sightzero, welcome.gif to 10mmTalk!

The S&W 1006 with the fixed sights are fine for most shooting disciplines. They should be good with most all ammunition sold to the POA at least to 50yards. The 10mm is very flat shooting round especially at the higher velocities.

The adjustable sights are refined and adjustable for windage and elevation for distance shooting which lends more to hunting and precision target. I have the adjustable sights on my 1006 and I have used them to 130 yards on skeet sized targets, but the rest of the 10xx series of mine are the fixed type. I handload all my own ammunition and have had real good results in all of mine.

Best regards and enjoy the forum! thumb.gif

Shadow,

Thanks a lot for the info.
I guess I'll wait until I can find one
with adjustable sights. I think is more
versatile.
