so i recently got back into .22's with a nice NIB black syn stocked 10/22 for 210 OTD. i threw on my nikon 3x9x40 and drilled a hole in the factory stock for my bipod to be mounted. worked fine.

but the first day i went to shoot it, was no optimal for sighting in. it was windy, and i had only a shoulder or prone shot.

problem is, im 6'5. so i had a TERRIBLE time getting the stock in a usable position since its meant for a child.

so ive been looking at bull barrels, and new stocks. i dont want to break the bank, and im not doing all the wild trigger crap. i just want a decent heavy barrel, and a stock along the looks and feel of an hs percision or mc millian (for larger bolt rifles) that has a much longer stock. (and a bipod mount, a monopod swivel wouldnt hurt but its not a must)

so what will it be?

Revolution stock and Tactical Solutions barrel.

Check out RimfireCentral.com. Plenty of good vendors there.

I agree with G. RimfireCentral.com has a wealth of information for customizing a 10/22.

I put a Butler Creek barrel and Hougue overmolded stock on mine. $225 and the rifle went from 5MOA to 2-3MOA groups. Quick n' dirty.
Likes Federal Auto-Match or Remy Golden Bullet Bulk ammo and shoots most stuff pretty good.

The tighter chambers often cause more FTE's when the chambers get dirty after a couple hundred rounds.

They even put sling swivels on the stock you can attach a sling, bipods. Makes for a more stable shooting rifle in the field and you can free your hands.
Some of the stocks out there are flat bottomed. These work well off a bench/sandbags but are nearly useless, at least IMHO, for field use.
So figure out how it will be used if going that route.

i looked at the houge stocks, they seem decent. butler creek has a nice barrel/stock kit, but im not so happy about the stock. bell and carson makes a really nice looking one, and its about 160ish. its going to have a bipod (as it does now already) and just be for punching holes in paper. im not a hunter, so no need for that type of shooting.

Thanks. I actually was thinking of getting a Blue Leupold scope to match, but it was a bit more than I wanted to spend. The PF scope is top notch though.

I've done several 10-22's. I have been using the Green Mountain barrels. The price is very reasonable and the quality is superb.

Look at Boyds for a decent stock and if you need a longer LOP I bet they would be glad to custom cut you one. They are the bees knees in the stock world for $$'s spent.

Just buy a Volquartsen hammer and swap it in to your FCG. You will be very impressed with the improvement of the trigger pull and all for less than $20.00. While you have the FCG look at one of the bolt release accessories that every body sells and fire up the Dremel or the files and duplicate the rounded cut in the bolt hold open set up. It will take you 10 minutes to do it and will save you about $15.00.

X2, IMHO Green mountain, top of the line is Kidd Barrels and triggers. Best deals on the best ammo, champion shooters supply, EABCO for stocks
