RED HORSE (click here for unit history)

I had some great times. There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss being in RED HORSE. Then I look at my kids and remember why I left.

Sorrow is merely an emotion. Pain is merely a stimulation of nerve endings. Neither one has any necessary relationship to what we have to do in order to survive. If our enemies make it more painful for us to do what we must do, that merely increases the wrong they do us. It does not decrease our obligations. It is therefore irrelevant to our decisions.

1988-92: Bitburg AB, Germany. 22 AMU. Last year there, I worked the Demo team. Between regular TDY,
Desert Shield/Storm, and the Demo stuff, I saw every country in Europe, and a lot of Africa.

1992-93: King Salmon Airport, AK. 643rd SS (2 F-15s on alert out in the middle of nowhere...after the
Cold War ended--I went fishing for a year, but we had 2 or 3 little bits of excitement:)

1993-2001: Luke AFB, AZ. 550th, 461st, 63rd Fighter Squadrons, and a few years working CC.

2001-2005: Lexington KY on recruiting duty....worst 4 yrs of my career!

2005-present: Shaw AFB, SC. 55th AMU

(oh yeah....I'm active USAF, Electrical/Environmental--for you non-aircraft MOS', I fix heating/cooling, pressurization, electrical generation and pretty much anything with a wire on it)

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

We live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns.
Who's gonna do it? You? You, Congresswoman Pelosi, you, Senator Reed?
I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for terrorists and you curse the Military.
You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Terrorist's death, while tragic, probably saved lives.
And the military's existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...
You don't want the truth.
Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me In Iraq. You need me in Afganistan.
We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something.
You use them as a punchline.
I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a person who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it!
I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post.
Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!
