Can anyone help me with the dimensional differences between carbine length and mid length gas systems on a 16" barrel?

Specifically, what is the length from the receiver to the closest part of the gas block on a mid length system?

Thanks!

It's 9.5" from the chamber to the gas port.

Thanks TS!

I was really hoping to be able to use YHM's Customizable Foregrip in conjunction with a folding front sight gas block on my mid length build. the problem is that they skipped mid length on the foregrip and gop straight to spector length which is 9.675"

Spector length must be their version of mid length. 9.5 and 9.675 are probably the same thing. The number I have is probably a rounded number. I would call or email YHM and make sure.

They do a mid length in the four rail models, spec'd at 9.2". I'll guess I'll just have to use one of those if I want the flip front mid length...

I'm pretty sure that I could make the specter work with some very minor notching, but I'm being steered away from that.

That's weird and stupid, financially speaking and practically. The small difference won't accomplish much. They are most likely trying to get closer to a rifle gas system lock time wise vs a middy. It seems pointless.
