So I was considering buying a Remington 700 and get a decent scope for it (not amazing wink.gif) Buuuttt I shot my brother's Henry lever-action .44 mag this past weekend and it was a LOT of fun. I shot the bottle cap off of a 2 liter bottle at around 15 feet (Which is amazing for me, I'm not that amazingly of a shot). That gun shot super straight and was a heck of a lot of fun. So now I am thinking about getting a lever action and a six shooter of the same caliber...perhaps try some cowboy shooting. Does anyone here do Cowboy shooting? I wouldn't mind hearing from some people who do this, just to get an idea of how much fun it is.

On the other hand, a 700p would be a blast too, but I think shooting inanimate objects is more fun then simply paper targets =)

Anywho, just thought I'd drop a line and see if anyone here does Single Action shooting/cowboy shooting.

Nate

Who says you can't shoot at inanimate objects with the Remmy? Lever actions are loads of fun, my brother has a Marlin Lever action in .44 mag, it is one of the two guns of his that I want. I have a Ruger Vaquero in 45 long colt and I love it!.

I have a buddy that hunts deer with a Winchester 94 chambered in .44. I have shot it and it is great fun. Ammo is not cheap but is a little less expensive than my 308. But to have 2 guns shooting the same round is a good idea.

If you are going to shoot Cowboy Action, I would suggest reloading due to the volume of cartridges required for practice and competition. I would suggest the lever and pistol combo over the Rem.

I've got a Cinamaron Yellowboy in 45 Colt & a couple 3 Vaqueros that's great fun to shoot. You would be suprized at how accurate that Yellowboy can be when ya take your time & dial her in.

OOPS! That's a pic of my old Mod 94. Don't have one of the 92

I'm a cowboy shooter. Lots of kicks w/ great people. Don't bother w/ the Henry--not regarded very highly, but it is cheap.

I have a Uberti that I love but it won't work sad.gif

I can take it to the local gunsmith, but if they can't figure it out... I am out the money, and they won't give me ANY idea of cost...

I have replaced the firing pin a couple time and still NG...

In any case...

I want a new Vaquero thumb.gif

.45 long colt is a bad round though... makes .45 look like a pussy round animlol.gif

Makes 9mm look like .22 laugh.gif
