For as long as I can remember I have wanted an AR but until recently have never had the extra funds, so finally I was in a position to make a purchase and with all the crazed buying I was lucky to find a local dealer who happened to have one in stock (only one), it was a DSA ZM4 mid length w/fluted barrel, I grabbed it while I could since any new arrivals were already spoken for by people waiting on back-orders, It’s a sharp looking AR (even though fluted barrels are not my personal preference) and I know that DSA uses lowers manufactured by LMT (the one positive thing I know for sure), from what I can make out from their site the barrels are manufactured by Badger Barrels?

What’s been driving me nuts about my purchase is that I really enjoy searching the web and different AR15 forums to find discussion on any weapon I own, but when it come to my AR it’s like it doesn’t even exist, all the chatter in the world about DSA FAL’s but next to nothing on their basic AR15’s (at least the one I have), I have no reason to believe that it will not be a perfectly fine weapon based on the reputation of DSA when it comes to their other models of firearms, but beating the keyboard for the past two weeks looking for SOMETHING about my AR and coming up near empty is driving me nuts. I really want to be happy with my new purchase but it’s difficult when I come to the forums and hear all the chatter (good & bad) about virtually every AR platform but mine.

What would you do in a similar circumstance?

I wish I could help. but i don't know anything about your gun. Welcome though. I'm sure some more knowledgeable types will be along soon.

I'm kind of in the same situation but I have a DPMS Lower and a GG&G Dominator 1 Upper Assy.
I have heard plenty of good about GG&G just not the upper receivers.
When it all comes down to it sure we all want the best for the cheapest price.
Prices have gotten so stoopid lately that what I spent for my upper could have purchased the whole rifle 6 months ago.
I'm sure you know what I mean.
With this being your first like me we both are uncertain. I know I am but all will be fine in the end.
I am sure that it will meet my needs and wants just fine and I intend to make sure it does by testing it as often as I can
I can't offer you any advise other than to trust in yourself and enjoy your new Beauty of a rifle.
Post some pics so we can see it

Is this it???

If it functions correctly, I wouldn't regret it. It is a nice looking rifle.

What he said and like you mentioned in your post, the lower is by LMT.

Great looking gun!
I am new to AR, but not to guns.
I am sure you will start shooting it, and say, "Wow, why did I even question myself.....I'm lovin' it!" smile.gif
And, in the end, you may like the fact that yours is unique.
Good luck!

I'm not too sure but I think AR15's are fairly newer in their production, usually you hear the name DSA when talking about FAL's, perhaps its just a matter of them being in production awhile longer? DSA claims that each riffle is assembled individually from start to finish by one of their smiths.

Anyhow, thanks for the responses…

Just go out an shoot it, become familiar with it, and you'll come to know if you like it or not. I've head of them, but frankly don't know much. I'll guess, though, that it's a pretty nice rifle.

Congrats on the new AR. I am sure that it will work out good for you. It does look like a nice rifle.
