I know that it is a varmint rifle but that is where it stops for me. I can get it for next to nothing and was wondering if anyone has had any experiance with one. Not sure i want to get it as the rounds are ridiculasly expensive. Also not much of a varmint hunter as i eat almost everything i kill. Any knowledge about this gun woud be great. Thanking you in advance.

my friend had one for a little bit. he was not happy with it and sold it and got a .243 wssm instead.

it will do the ticket on deer,bear and anything that is thin skinned....far as ammo gos,everything is expensive

The SSMs are a gimmic thought up by the ammo manufacturers, in my opinion. Why replace cartridges that are tried and true with a new one that merely ignites faster to gain a few FPS through muzzle velocity, and a shorter bolt throw? . 35.00 for a box of 20 is a kick in the shorts for a rifle you have no real use for. I don't know your state's hunting regs, but in KS bullet diameter has to be .30+. I know very few people who have purchased the SSM cartridges. If you have a need for the rifle, grab it, or pick it up cheap and sell it for a profit.
