I just returned from a gun show and went there to get an upper. There were few at the scene but I found a new Olympic Arms M-$4 style for $200 more than I could buy an upper, so I bought it and will use the upper and sell the lower or sell the RRA lower that I have . Anyone have any experience with OA? I remember a friend of mine had one a few years ago and was thoughoughly disgusted with it. But I don't remember why.

The main complaint about Olympics is the mag well, which tends to be tight. You'll have to test each mag to see if they drop free. I've heard that they make good barrels. I owned one a while back but I carried it around much more than I used it. Pretty much, you'll have to see how it works for you. There are members that use a lot of Olympic parts... maybe they'll chime in. Congrats!

I have an OA, I have not had any issues with it. I like mine, great little rifle. I changed mine to a six position stock and M4 hand guards. I have about 800 rounds through it. I did buy it used and don't know much about the history, but otherwise it has been a great rifle for me. No FTF/FTE. I wouldn't get rid of it for anything.
