Ok I bought a flip up Buis at the gun show it is a 6/3. I have a NCstar red dot I would like some advice on setting this up to either work together or use the flip up strictly as a back up. Im all ears.

The iron sights work indepently of the red dot sights. Set up your red dot and zero it. Set up your irons and zero them. That's all you do. Red dot sights do not require you to look through the scope like croshairs-it's just dodt on target, fire. The BUIS is just that-the back up iron sight.

I'm betting it's a detachable A2 type sight that is marked with 6/3 for the battlesight setting rather than the 8/3 common on fixed carry handle A2 sights.

Yes it is marked 6/3 on the sight instead of 8/3 not a big deal, I try to give as much info as I can. I will set them up independently thank you .

I do have pics, but I cant attach them from my computer on here. As for NCstar http://www.ncstardealer.com/ check it out. It is a cheap alternative to nothing I payed 60.00 for my sight that can cost as much as 500.00 if you buy the Eotech. You get what you pay for that is why I have the BUIS. I also have a Nikon BDC scope for it and the removable handle with the 8/3 sight.

BUIS as a back-up.
