Doubtless I'm not the only AR owner to be wrestling with this of late.

This morning I took a couple of ARs to the range for a brief visit. This pair drew the short straws in my recent calculus to the effect that, since:
• the ongoing deluge of economic nukes makes me think I might want to have access to the cash value of some of my firearm assets,
• today's political climate makes me wonder if there's the possibility of just losing my firearm assets without any recompense, and
• I can't really find the time in my life to use and become proficient with all of the guns I have,
then perhaps I should cull the herd and figure out what I might sell.

My morning's range companions are in fact pretty nice guns, so I thought I'd have little trouble selling them. I just took them out to make sure they function just fine in their current configurations.

One had an Aimpoint on it, which I had removed to keep. I really couldn't remember how well the irons were zeroed, but I was only out to check function. Wow. I guess I was just having one of those rare "on" days, but there was no doubt that the irons were zeroed. That felt good!

The other one up for adoption has a scope that I'll keep, even though I've never really gotten used to it. It really had not been fun to shoot that setup and I wasn't going to miss it. But it is unusual for me to pop the first three rounds in the same hole, in the bullseye. Maybe that last time I monkeyed with the adjustments and eye relief actually came close to getting it figured out.

Man, these are nice guns. I don't want to sell 'em.

ARGHHH!!

Bud, listen they are not going to go house to house trying to take our weapons, they know it will start Civil War II is this is attempted.
Not having time to shoot and dedicate to them is not a big deal either, they sit there and you know you have them if you need them and last time I checked mine did not cost me one time to sit in my vault, bedroom, office, but the gratitude I have knowing they are there if I do need them would be worth money if they did cost anything to keep.

I am telling you to keep your Rifles, if you sell them you will be sick and might not be able to regain what you once had for a very long time.

Having a couple of sets of assembled spare parts is a good thing. Never sell a gun.

I would most definately hang on to what I had, unless of course your giving them away then I'll take two, haha.

Bought an AR once and kind of had to sell it to pay a few bills after I lost my job, now that I'm saving again in the process of building a second one...man do I wish I would have just struggled and kept the first one I had. Everytime I think about it I throw up in my mouth a little unsure.gif

+1 I have culled a few guns from the herd in the past and usually end up regretting it.

If I had kept all the AR's and other evil rifles I have sold or traded for no reason, I'd be up there with Noneya and his "parts".
