Hey Guys:

Stopping into the font of knowledge for a bit.

I'm going to be building up my last unused lower for another build (going pretty with FDE furniture), here's what I had in mind:

MEGA lower
RRA 2-stage trigger FCG
CMMG 14.5" LW A2 upper
Daniel Defense 7.0 freefloat (FDE)
Magpul CTR stock and MOE grips

My 2 other ARs have flattop uppers, one is outfitted with an Aimpoint M2, the other is simple with a detachable carry handle. This will be my 1st A2 upper and I am kind of figuring in the "less parts, less to go wrong" principle.

So, I'm entertaining the idea of forward-mounting an Aimpoint T-1 on the DD rails with a Larue LT660. This should work right? Even with the fixed carry handle and standard FSB, do you see any problems with the mount height for a standard FSB?

on quad rails I think it will be low. I don't like co-witnessing altogether so I don't care for the idea. If your gunna mount it forward I would suggest an Arms mount that mounts to the carry handle and puts it forward and low. thats just me though.

You can always put the optic on a 1/2in spacer if need be though...

I agree go with the Carry handle mount and get that optic up there, no use in trying to co-witness with the Irons, especially on a A2, if the optic fails remove the optic and keep rolling.
