He's a hunter/fisherman type.

Kinda' want to stay at or below $100.

Anyone know anything about Fallkniven knives?

Or one of the Benchmades - like the HK Plain Edge or the Griptilian or an Ativator?

Falkniven are excellent knives. So are Randalls.

Falkniven is from Sweden, and considered one of the best in the world.
I like these:RC-3 is the one
I was looking at one not too long ago and really liked it.

Thanks G. Whatcha' think about the SOG Team Leader (DuraTech™ 20CV) TL-01? It's a little higher in price but I think I can find one for about $170. Really the gift limit is supposed to be $50 but screw that. You get what you pay for and this guy (actually my niece's husband) is a pretty good guy

Have you looked at Helle Knives? They are Finnish knives and I will swear by them! Very attractive knives also!
This is like the one I have, it is the Safari.

I've also heard great things about Falkniven. If I were in the market for a fixed blade right now I'd probably go with a SOG. For the money I think they are a pretty good find.

Strider, ZeroTolerance, Horrigan would be my top choices. I don't have any experience with the RAT products but all I hear are good things.

I love my benchmade, it is a folding knife, but they have a fixed blade that is next on my shoping list...its called the Nimravus. you can get the blade partially serated or with a full blade. They also offer it in standard drop point or a tanto version. I was watching one on ebay(serated blade) that sold for under $80. They normally run around $110+. Some also come with a black moded sheath with a thumb release.

i definately want one!
