Deer modern gun season opened November 8th here. I took the 308 out for its first hunting trip. When I arrived at my stand two does were eating about 100 yards from my stand. I quickly closed the bolt, removed the scope cover and then loaded one of them in the back of the truck. I climbed in the stand and after less than 30 minutes this guy stepped out of the woods 140 yards away.

A 150 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip perforated his heart and broke apart most of the shoulder bones on exit. I found him on the ground about 20 yards from where he was shot. He was the largest deer I have ever killed.
