we have a move over law in this state. You see an emergency vehicle stopped, you must either slow down (tho the law is vague and doesn't say by how much, just "to a safe speed" which leaves it to the discretion of the drivers) or move into an adjacent lane.

The guy who hit him, IIRC, was intoxicated. Listen to the audio - and the guy the cop stopped was also stopped for failure to maintain his lane of travel - which is kind of ironic in a sick way. He stopped one guy for failure to maintain a lane of travel, then gets creamed by antoher butthole doing the same thing.

The Officer wound up being OK, thankfully. That accident happened about 2 miles from my place.
