So, I'm still researching fixed blade knives since I drew my niece's husband's name for the family Christmas exchange. He's an outdoorsy/hunter type of guy.

And I've found a few that seem interesting. If any o' you'se guys have experience with 'em, let me know. Or if you have suggestions. I'm thinking plain edge, not serrated.

So, the Benchmade Rant, Nimravus and Griptilian, the SOG Field Pup or Seal Pup Elite, Kershaw's Deer Hunter, Echo and Roughneck. There are a couple by Spyderco (Moran and Kumo). Microtech's Currahee and SOCOM. Also, what do we know about Knives of Alaska.

Most of these are between $50 and $100.

Hey bc...do you own a fixed blade knife? You may not have a need for one. What would you buy?

I'm looking forward to hearing what folks have to say here.

I've been getting interested in a new fixed blade knife recently. One kife that really has my eye so far is the Gerber 1400 LMF .

SOG Seal Pup, Seal elite, etc. are damned good knives. Played with a couple, and they're solid knives, and their owners love 'em.

I feel dumb owning it since it has USMC markings and I never served in any capacity much less the Marine Corps. but I absolutely love my KaBar.

if you've got a little time on your hands and some tools, the Knifekits.com fixed blade kits are fantastic! I'm still using the hell out of mine, and it's become my favorite knife

This is going to be my Christmas gift this year banana.gif

I have heard a lot of great things about it, and not a single bad word!

They are now also making black and green grips/sheaths.
