So I wanted to get a good LED light and have used Pelicans for a long time now. But my last Pelican pissed me off by dying on me three times in 6 months (after a trip back to the factory no less) so I decided to look into Surefire.

I always liked their lights but they just didn't last long enough for me. The incandescent 6P is only 60 lumens/60 minutes. And at the cost of the batteries that was way too short.

But not any more! The new 6P LED claims 80 lumens for ELEVEN HOURS! And its very bright and clear. Not to mention well built and very small. I've been taking my dog for some late night walks just to check this thing out and its great. Heck I even lit up some reflective stripes on a low flying aircraft the other night!

So, FWIW, I highly recommend this light. Especially if you're a Surefire fan. thumbsup.gif

That looks like a nice light. I might have to check into getting one.

I've got the regular 6P and bought the 120 Lumens replacement bulb (P61) that thing gets 20 minutes on a set of batteries but is some kind of awful bright!

Congrats on the new light. I just bought the P60L LED upgrade for my Z2 about 3 weeks ago. A great buy IMO. Surefire LEDs are very bright. It doesn't seem to have the distance of the regular lamp. I haven't been able to compare them side by side but up close it is easy to tell the difference between 65 and 85 lumens. I use my light a lot at work and it has taken its share of spills. I have replaced many regular bulbs, this light should take a little more abuse and keep on shining. I am not sure on battery life exactly, I was told I will notice a difference. Good enough for me, this light goes wherever I do and to know it will work brighter and longer than before is a real bonus. I do keep a spare bulb and battery container in the truck at all times. Even though it is supposed to keep on shining I still know it's man made.

I bought one on a whim and really like it myself. It certainly gets more time than my old 6p.
