Ok. I know there are seveal guys here that use Canned Heat. I've used some 55gn ball a friend gave me to try in my carbine (5.56 chamber) and I liked it. Anyone know if any of the Canned Heat loads would be suitable for a .223 chamber?

While the GA stuff gone way up, all .223 has and they're still competative. I'm interested in checking out their match or varmint loads.

Edit: IMPORTANT STUFF - Make sure that if you read anything in this thread, that you read post #14 by BC. .

BC - Thanks again for gathering the info for us.

In a .223 chamber?

I'm fine if it's only good for a gun chambered for 5.56, but if that's the case I'd rather just buy ball and save the $$$. No need for match ammo in the lightweight 'dissy'.

I bought some of their 68 gr Match ammo and all the bullets had dings on them. Here's a LINK to post in this section showing a pic. They shot fine out of my RRA A4 NM which has a Wylde chamber.

I sent them an email asking about the dings and they couldn't be bothered to reply.

I emailed them and they wrote back that the 223/5.56 was made to 223 pressures not 5.56 in the 55 gr. fmj's which I was interested in...

Some of these so-called "gunfighters" had better stick to sand blasting and paper targets, they don't shoot back.

If that's the kind of (or lack of) response that customers get, I don't think I'd be encouraged to give them any more money.

Exactly the answer I was looking for. Thanks jem.

But I'm a bit troubled by the dented bullets and response issues bb is running into with them. Damn.

Exactly my feelings. I was a new customer and placed an order for 1K of their 45ACP and 500 of these 68 gr match 223 ammo. It was a like a $340 order. It was suggested on AR15.com that they may have been trying to increase their profit margin a bit by using blemished bullets or maybe some crap got into their bullet seating die. The dings are probably no big deal as the ammo shoots OK. But the reason I spent the extra cash on these instead of 55 gr plinking rnds was for better accuracy. So seeing the dings definitely dissapointed me. I don't understand how a business can justify blowing off a paying customer like that. I'm certianly not motivated to buy any more ammo from them. And that kinda sucks too because as far as I know I'm the only one who's had a negative experience with them. I've read a couple dozen posts on these guys and they've all been positive.

Funny....everytime I've called or emailed, they were more than helpful. Hell, they've given specific load information to a friend when he had questions about his .300 Weatherby.

Maybe you caught them on a bad day...

I guess I was thinking something similar.

bayouboy - Have you emaled them your questions more than once? Tried calling?

I am concerned if a vendor treats a customer like this. But we all have off days and a single email (if that's what you had out there) could easily get lost in the days noise. Sometimes, it's not them treating you badly, but that they just let you fall through the cracks.

Good point - I did just send them the one email. I also posted pics of the dinged up bullets here and on AR15.com which they probably didn't appreciate.
